Who We Are

GuardNest is a grocery visibility app that helps you track what you have, what you're using, and what's quietly slipping away. GuardNest is operated by Kyle Miller. You can reach us at hello@guardnest.app.

What We Collect

We collect only what's necessary to provide the service:

• Account information — your email address when you create an account via email or Google Sign-In.
• Grocery scan data — items identified from receipt photos, fridge photos, or pantry photos you choose to scan. This includes item names, estimated prices, and expiry information.
• Usage data — how you interact with the app, collected via Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity. This helps us understand what's working and what isn't.
• Payment information — if you upgrade to GuardNest Pro, payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

What We Don't Collect

• We do not store the photos you scan — images are processed and discarded immediately.
• We do not collect your location.
• We do not build advertising profiles or sell your data to third parties.
• We do not share your data with anyone except the service providers listed below who help us run the app.

How We Use Your Data

• To provide and improve the GuardNest service
• To send you weekly grocery reports and expiry reminders via email
• To process payments for Pro subscriptions
• To understand how the app is being used so we can make it better

Service Providers

We use the following third-party services to operate GuardNest. Each has their own privacy policy:

• Supabase — database and authentication
• Google — authentication (Google Sign-In) and analytics (GA4)
• Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions
• Resend — transactional email delivery
• Microsoft Clarity — session recording and heatmaps to improve UX
• Meta — advertising (we run ads on Facebook and Instagram)

Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days. You can request deletion at any time by emailing hello@guardnest.app.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights, email us at hello@guardnest.app and we'll respond within 5 business days.

Children's Privacy

GuardNest is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you by email or by posting a notice in the app. Continued use of GuardNest after changes means you accept the updated policy.
